Short Bio
Louisa is a doctoral researcher at MESH at the University of Cologne. Prior to this, she was at the University of Oslo (2022-2024), where she did an MPhil in Social Anthropology and an honours certificate at the Oslo School of Environmental Humanities. For her master’s thesis Making Sheep, Making Landscapes, she did six months of fieldwork in Shetland, where she focused on crofters’ attempts to maintain their grass fields and heather hills while facing increasing climatic, economic, political and social pressures. In Autumn 2024, Louisa was a research assistant working with archival material in Marianne Lien’s project Nordic Arctic Colonisation.
