Dr. YanYun Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Southwest University in China. Her research revolves around historical anthropology in southwestern China, with a specific emphasis on the Miao and Dong ethnic communities. Over the years, she has conducted extensive fieldwork in the Duliu River Basin in Guizhou and Guangxi provinces of China, investigating the social and cultural transformations within southwestern ethnic minority societies during China's modern history. Her recent research has focused on kinship and family studies within the Dong ethnic group in China.
