Education and professional career
Amira Ahmed Mohamed currently teaches core courses on social anthropology, community development, and migration and refugees at the American University in Cairo (AUC): Sociology, Anthropology and Egyptology Department. She is also a principal investigator for a multi-county collaborative research project on the heritage of migrants and refugees. She worked previously as humanitarian and development practitioner with several national and international organizations such as UN-IOM in Jordan and Egypt and IFRC in Switzerland.
