Can comics become a tool for teaching transatlantic Black resistance in the history classroom? We will discuss this question with Prof. Christine Gundermann, Professor of Public History at the University of Cologne, PD Dr. Charlotte Lerg, associate professor at the LMU Munich and Bennê Oliveira, a Brazilian comic artist with indigenous and Afro-Brazilian roots. The event is aimed at students and teachers of history and is also the official release of the catalogue re/traçar história/s: quadrinhos e resistência negra, published by J.-Prof. Dr. Jasmin Wrobel and Dr. Janek Scholz in autumn 2023.
