The Global South Studies Center (GSSC) at the University of Cologne is an interdisciplinary research center that coordinates the Key Profile Area “Global South Studies.”
The center aims to strengthen perspectives on the Global South and to explore the complex interconnections of global inequalities, cultural dynamics, and societal transformations across various thematic areas.
The GSSC promotes exchange between disciplines, researchers, and partner institutions worldwide, with a particular focus on collaborations in the Global South. Through joint research projects, teaching initiatives, and events, the center contributes to the development of new forms of knowledge and actively shapes global dialogues.
