Summer or Field schools are a central teaching tool used in this thematic network. They are designed by the individual Thematic Research Areas (TRA) as intensive in-the-fieldresearch-cum-teaching seminars that usually include training in methods and discussion units. All field schools will be attended by 8-10 students from UoC and a similar number of students from our partner universities. In the course of such field schools, students will collect data (e.g. interview, observation, and archival data) which they might use for their thesis papers and for publication projects resulting from the individual working groups.
Follow-Up-Workshops take place after field schools or excursions and are organised by the respective research areas. They are geared toward summarising, synthesising and presenting results of joint field research.
Academic training workshops are designed to improve the presentation, publication and application grant-writing skills of selected PhD/Master students from UoC and partner universities.
Lectures will take place on an irregular basis. Topics will be selected on their actuality and availability of network partners.
International conferences are a prime occasion for the dissemination of the Thematic Network’s key results.
